Textbook exercises for Lecture 3a, 3b:

  • Section 2.1, Exercises 2bdfh, 3bdfh, 8b, and 16b. (Note: A matrix is called symmetric if it is equal to its transpose)
  • Section 2.2, Exercises 2b and 10bdfh

  • The quiz will be at the beginning of class.
  • You will need to write the quiz on physical paper, so please bring a pen or pencil.
  • Scratch paper will be provided.
  • Know your ID number, since you will need to write it on the quiz paper.
  • The quiz papers will be collected, so you don’t need to scan anything.
  • Calculators are not permitted and are not needed (no simplification is needed).
