Submitting hand-written assignment (worksheets)

All worksheet homework are of this format.

The very first worksheet is meant to train you in submitting hand-written work to Gradescope. It will be graded by completion.

How to create a PDF file of your hand-written work

How to create a PDF file of your typed work

  • Try selecting “print to file” or “save as PDF” to create a PDF of a word or text document.

  • This depends on your software. Please ask me for suggestions.

How to submit your file (containing your hand-written work) to Gradescope

  • After you create a PDF file of your hand-written work, you will submit to Gradescope either on a mobile device or a laptop/desktop. See Submitting an Assignment on phone or laptop/desktop

  • In the above document, there is a section called Understanding submission types. You will typically choose variable-length submission where you will have to tell Gradescope which page each answer is. See Submitting an assignment on phone or laptop/desktop using variable-length submission

  • IMPORTANT: If you want the convenience of uploading just one file for all problems, you must select to upload a PDF file (not an image file).

  • If you prefer to print the worksheet and write directly on your printed paper, you should select fixed-length submission. In this case, you only need to upload your completed PDF and will not be asked to indicate which page(s) contain the answers to each question.

Submitting a Regrade Request

  • For Gradescope submissions, you can submit Regrade Requests for questions you think were graded incorrectly. See Submitting a Regrade Request

  • For grading mistakes not on Gradescope, you should contact the instructor directly.

  • Regrade requests should be completed within one week of the score being posted in the gradebook. Only regrades related to administrative mistakes (e.g., miscalculating the score or entering it incorrectly) made after the one-week period will be considered.
